How long are Good Standings and Lien Certificates good?

Strickly speaking the certificates are only good for the date they are dated. So, new certificates should probably be obtained for each closing/settlement, however title companies and/or financial institutions mayl take them 30 or 60 days old. You should check with whoever is demanding the production of these documents.

It is dangerous relying upon old documents because a merger could be filed the day after the good standing is issued and the company would no longer be in good standing if they were not the survivor.
