Filings

Funeral Services companies...What do I need to know about filing Articles of Incorporation for Funeral Services.

1) If you use the word "Funeral" in the company name, you will need to obtain a letter from the Funeral Board (Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs) granting permission to the company to use the word in their name.

2) A FUNERAL corporation can be either a professional or a business corporation. If a funeral corporation is not going to be a professional corporation it must state the following:

a) Business Stock - Restricted - Type the word "Restricted" after "Business Stock" at the top of the form.
b) The following language, or something to this effect, must be added to the articles: "The corporation will engage in no other business activity than that of funeral directing.
